Our 36th Annual Stark County Women's Amateur Golf Association Team Tournament was held on Wednesday, July 17, at Arrowhead Golf Club. Sixty-three golfers played on the 5,039 yard, par 70, course until a downpour of rain ended the tournament with most golfers finishing 15 or more holes, using par for the remaining holes.
Both individual low gross and low net honors couldn't have been closer. Brookside's Kristen Belden won medalist honors with a par 70. Arrowhead's Madison Ardelean captured second low gross honors with 71.
Brookside's Jeannie Young won low net honors with 61 followed by Congress Lake's Sue Lyons with 62.
Arrowhead defended its team low gross title with 560, using the best seven scores, to win the title. Team members are Madison Ardelean, Denise Callahan, Deb Fitz, Ann Godwin, Barb Lovaglio, Janet Shaheen, Theresa Stotler, Jan Todd, Rita Welling, Debbie Yaich.
Brookside won team low net honors with 472, again using the best seven scores. Team members are Cassie Bailey, Kristen Belden, Lorie Bitzel, Pam Clay, Alison Cress, Ann Hunt, Jen Jackson, Carmen Pantelas, Vanessa Prodafikas, Pat Ripple, Jan Schaffert, Meredith White, Jeannie Young.

Lake High graduate Audrey Nichols is the recipient of SCWAGA's Betty Kerby Peppard Scholarship, awarding
$1,000. Audrey will attend and play golf for Ohio Wesleyan.
She plans to major in Accounting.
